Welcome to Geita Gold Mining Limited Kilimanjaro Challenge Against HIV and AIDs Trust website. This is a charity organization founded by Geita Gold Mining Limited (GGML) in 2002, which has evolved to become the biggest private sector initiative of its kind in the fight against the scourge in Tanzania.
For the purpose of raising funds to fight HIV and AIDS in the country, every year we organize a climb to the top of the legendary Mount Kilimanjaro-Uhuru Peak, the highest point of Africa. Recently a ‘Kili 360’ Cycle Challenge was introduced to run concurrently with the climb. The event takes riders on a 480 km clockwise route around the base of Mt Kilimanjaro and up to Shira Plateau, covering an average of 60 km per day.
